Class 1: IMMERSION DYEING
Spring series 2013:
Saturday, March 30
9:30am-1:30pm

Get to know fiber-reactive dyes!

They are a user-friendly, low-toxicity, versatile tool for adding luscious color (vibrant or subtle) to natural fibers. We will dye a wide assortment of sample swatches, perfect for starting your own reference notebook and developing your own dye palette. Also, we will experiment with various folded, clamped, stitched and tied resists for adding pattern as well as color to your cloth.

Students will end up with several yards of dyed fabric, suitable for further experimentation and/or quilting, sewing and collage projects.

Five students,
one four-hour class.
$60 per class
($300 for six-class series)
Next class:
Overdyeing/Resists/Color for Dyers

This class meets at Kat's home studio.
